Dean, Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences Kyushu University

On behalf of our students, faculty and administrative staff, I would like to welcome you to the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences, Kyushu University. This school focuses on research and education related to the maintenance of a stable supply of food and materials indispensable to life, the conservation of wildlife and the environment, and the health and welfare of mankind.

Our research and education programs cover a broad spectrum of disciplines including biological, chemical, physical, mathematical, socio-economic and environmental sciences. We offer lecture modules that fulfill essential agricultural knowledge requirements for Master’s course students with various backgrounds. The Doctor’s course students can conduct a research project with cutting-edge technology.

We accepted our first Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program student from Vietnam in 2001 and since then, we have enjoyed receiving over 100 highly motivated quality students from Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Lao-PDR up to date.

The MA course in which JDS students enroll was successfully awarded four MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan) scholarships for the course from 2013 to 2017. For the Doctor’s course, it was awarded 8 scholarships for the same fiscal period. JDS students will study in the same course where we also accept students with the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program(ADB-JSP) and Project for the Promotion and Enhancement of the Afghan Capacity for Effective development (PEACE).

I would like to thank you for your interest in our programs and invite you to learn more about the Faculty of Agriculture, International Development Research Course in the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences, Kyushu University.
