Planting rice in terrace paddy fields

A Field trip to beautiful terrace paddy field, practice of planting rice, farmer market.

Date: 28th May, 2016 (Saturday)

Meeting place and time: Front of the 1st Building of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Meeting time is 8:00 am.  Returning time is expected at 5:00 pm.

Remarks: Please prepare about 1,000 yen {500 yen in coin (for the lunch and insurance fee ) },
and bring a few towels and a raincoat (in a rainy day)

“Liquid composting technology for livestock manure management in Korea“

In order to establish environment-friendly livestock farming, Korean government and non-governmental research institutes has put a great deal of efforts on feed manufacture, management of animal diseases, food safety management and recycling manure. A variety of ideal ways of manure treatment have been suggested for decades. The lecture will mainly discuss on industrial characteristics, chemical composition of animal waste and address in advanced management technology and utilization of nutrients from manure as special case in Korea.

The lecture will address the following subjects:

  1. Present state of livestock industry and environmental problems in Korea
  2. Eco-friendly manure management system
  3. Case study on resources and recycling technology: approach and method,
  4. Sanitary manure management: main focus on bacteria and virus
  5. New approach for Liquid Fertilizer Quality Certification (LFQC) system
  6. Construction of integrated recycling system for management of livestock manure(main focus on Korea)

Field Trip

Hello all the JDS students,how are you doing? We will go to fishing to Itoshima city.
Field_TripField_TripField Trip This time, we get a chance to fish using a dragnet (a big seine), that is a traditional fishery.

After fishing, we will have a BBQ, roasting the fish we catch as well as other food. It will be on even if it rains.
