We have a lot of collaboration with the laboratories in the ISCEC. <br><br><strong>Our Aims<\/strong><br> &#8211; Understanding insect-borne pathogens (especially viruses)<br> &#8211; Developing methods controlling insect-borne infectious diseases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.agr.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/lab\/lse\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/mosquito1-e1554702951814-962x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-131\" width=\"188\" height=\"200\"\/><figcaption><em>Aedes albopictu<\/em>s<br>(lab strain)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Insects and Viruses<\/strong><br> Sanitary Entomology deals insect that causes human and animal health problems. Among those, we are focusing on blood-sucking insects and viruses transmitted by them.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Study<\/strong><br> We are trying to discover new viruses from insects which have not been identified previously. These includes arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses) and insect-specific viruses.
