Japanese culture training: Fukuoka guided walk in English/Hospitality with Japanese cuisine “Washoku”The more extensive a person travels abroad, the more he or she encounters situations that require explanation of Japanese culture and customs, as someone representing Japan. The program offers education in one’s own country and one’s own region for persons who plan to work globally and to be able to communicate such information.Program history: July 2014, September 2015, February 2016, etc.Description: Study into the history and culture of Fukuoka, field practice as English interpreter-guide for walking tours, hospitality with Japanese cuisine in English, etc.The experience of studying together with international students gives Japanese students an environment in which they are able to acquire naturally a more cosmopolitan outlook while staying in Japan. For international students, they are stimulated in the exchange with their Japanese counterparts and are able to experience a more enjoyable campus life.Particularly for science students, research information is constantly obtained from places beyond Japan. It is extremely important for students to obtain the ability to gather information in English, as the other wheel in scientific research, alongside producing laboratory results. It is also extremely important for them to be able to communicate with people outside their fields of specialization. Interaction with international students on a daily basis is a very effective and very enjoyable tool in upgrading communication skills.The Faculty of Agriculture at Kyushu University offers great opportunities to open paths to new venues while staying on campus.Faculty of Agriculture International Exchange Circle “QULE”～Kyushu University Language Exchange～International exchange circle made up of Japanese and international students studying in the same campus.
