Applied Microbiology

We employ a variety of microorganisms, including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeast, and filamentous fungi.

Our goal is engineering microorganisms that exhibit novel and enhanced capabilities for the production of enzymes, biologically active substances, and chemical compounds.

Basic experimental techniques used in our lab are as follows:

(I) Screening of microorganisms of interest, which include aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeast and filamentous fungi

(II) Purification of enzymes (III) Gene cloning and manipulation (IV) Protein engineering

(V) Molecular evolutionary engineering (VI) Molecular breeding of microorganisms (VII) Fluorescence Microscopy
