Zoology

Zoology Laboratory was established as Zoology First Division when the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyushu University was founded in 1920. It has one of the longest histories throughout this faculty and had belonged to the Department of Agriculture at the beginning. As for its graduate school, that belongs to the Department of Bioresource and Management. For the last several decades, we’ve made a series of studies to classify small-sized mammals organisms, and the ones to reveal ecology and mechanism of breeding. Nowadays, we aim to reveal the mechanism of mammal reproduction focusing on adopting the analysis of gene/protein in addition to the former developmental approach. Speaking with much honor, we’ve published many pieces of paper for our research on sophisticated scientific journals throughout the world such as Developmental Biology and Biology of Reproduction.
