In this division, we are working to elucidate the physiological and ecological characteristics of tropical and subtropical crops (mainly yams and rice) that contribute to improved productivity, and to develop cultivation techniques based on these characteristics. In addition, through international joint research with Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, we are involved in the development of crop varieties adapted to the local environment and the development of high production systems.
