About Our Laboratory

The Laboratory of Quantitative Food Economic Analysis is trying to find a solution to the economic disparity that exists between agricultural and non-agricultural sectors and among countries.
For example, a few large-scale agribusinesses have a disproportionate and dominating share in domestic and international markets. A solution to this economic disparity is to establish a balance between competition and cooperation among suppliers by combining market mechanisms with agricultural and trade policies.
The empirical research at the Laboratory of Quantitative Food Economic Analysis involves statistical analysis and simulation of possible scenarios that may illustrate how economic disparity may be alleviated.
