■Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences

Kyushu University provides many educational programs in the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences.

The programs are qualifies for the Master’s and Doctor’s degrees for students.

In this program, Japanese and English is official language.

If you wish to study under my supervision in this program, please contact me after you get recommendation from Japanese embassy, AsiaSEED and etc.

 

■International Development Research Course

Kyushu University provides a special international program in the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences. The program is termed International Development Research Course and qualifies for the Master’s and Doctor’s degrees for international students. In this program, English is official language.

If you wish to study under my supervision in this program, apply for my laboratory (farm management/ agricultural management) at the online entry system. Please send me the following information before application.

1) Official English qualifications (TOEFL/TOEIC etc.)
2) Research plan at my laboratory
3) Undergraduate and/or master thesis, published academic paper

MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship can be also applicable at the web site.

All applications should be accepted on the web site and/or the student office (not to me directly). Follow the instruction on the web site.

All applications will be examined and clarified very carefully. Only excellent students will be allowed to be a student of Kyushu University. Only a few outstanding students will be able to get MEXT Scholarship. All results will be sent from the student office (not from me).

 

■International research student throughout Kyushu University(Faculty of Agriculture)

The Laboratory of Farm Management, Kyushu University requests the following documents to those who are intending to enroll as an international research student. The decision of acceptance will be made by the professor based on these documents.

Procedure A: Documents requested for preliminary application
1. Resume (CV): Academic history, work carrier, and list of research works need to be included. Any style of format is allowed.
2. Brief description of your research works: Research topics and methods. Major research publication has to be attached (under graduate thesis, master’s thesis, proceeding paper, journal paper, etc.).
3. Research plan in Japan: Notify tentative theme, objective and method.
4. Future plan: Do you intend to continue to study for further degree? Or what kind of carrier do you wish to pursue? Where?
5. English and Japanese proficiency: Level of your language course you are/were in or learning history. Official test (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, The Japan Foundation “Nihongo-kentei”) is preferred.
6. Financial plan: Who is going to support your study financially? Have you received any scholarship? If you wish to continue to study for further degree, please notify your budget plan for each degree you pursue.
7. Recommendation letter from a university professor (If possible).
8. Guarantor: Do you have any guarantor who lives in Japan to guarantee your liabilities? Guarantor is fully responsible to all of your liabilities including tuition, rent, and other costs. If YES, name, address, relations to you, E-mail and Tel.

The following official documents must be prepared after the professor of Farm Management decides to accept as an international research student. These documents will be reviewed at the faculty meeting of agriculture, Kyushu University. The faculty is responsible for acceptance of International Research Student formally.

Procedure B: Official documents for the faculty meeting
1. Application form (in attached form)
2. Transcript of University/Graduate school and a diploma/certificate of graduation
3. Health certificate (issued within six months)
4. Examination fee (Must be paid by Japanese currency)
5. Recommendation letter (Dean of university you graduated or a supervisor of work office)
6. List of research works
7. Mater’s thesis (for those who are enrolling to doctoral course)

■International research student under Japanese Government(MEXT) throughout Embassy Recommendation

The Research Student Scholarship is a one-and-a-half to two-year scholarship for students with undergraduate degrees to study a subject of their choosing at a graduate school in Japan.
Benefits of the program include a monthly allowance of 152,000 yen (approx. $1450) per month; transportation to and from Japan; and university tuition.
To qualify, you must be a citizen of your country, have been born on or after April 2, 1975, and should be in good health. Proposed field of study must be the field, or any related field, that the applicant studied at a previous university. Applicants must be able to arrive in Japan between April 1-7 or between October 1-7, 2010.
