Dietary modernization must have great impact on gut microbiota of Asian children, that may alter their health status in future. To address this notion, we will keep an eye on structure and function of gut microbiota in children in the countries participating to this program.

Modern diets may predispose Asian people to non-communicable diseases. To address this notion, we will keep an eye on the link between gut microbiota and non-communicable diseases in Asian population.

Recent development in intestinal microbiology has revealt the function of each intestinal bacterium in our body. It may depend on strains, that motivates us to establish culture collection of Asian gut microbes which may be imprinted history of diets in each country.
