About WIS2026

The Workshop on Interdisciplinary Sciences (WIS) is an annual international event hosted by Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. Since its inception in October 2019, WIS has served as a dynamic platform connecting researchers and students at Kyushu University with alumni, collaborators, and participants from around the world.

WIS2026 will provide an inclusive venue for professional development, international collaboration, and interdisciplinary scientific exchange. Contributions may come from a wide range of fields; a common thread will be the use of data and computational approaches to understand complex questions and support discovery.

Data AnalysisMethods and tools for extracting insight from data across disciplines.
AI in the Broad SenseArtificial intelligence, machine learning, computational methods, and related approaches.
Statistics & SimulationStatistical reasoning, mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and simulation.

Data-driven Interdisciplinary Science
