The Workshop on Interdisciplinary Sciences (WIS) is an annual international event hosted by Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. Since its inception in October 2019, WIS has served as a dynamic platform connecting researchers and students at Kyushu University with alumni, collaborators, and participants from around the world.
WIS2026 will provide an inclusive venue for professional development, international collaboration, and interdisciplinary scientific exchange. Contributions may come from a wide range of fields; a common thread will be the use of data and computational approaches to understand complex questions and support discovery.
Day 1 · November 4
Sessions on career development, international experience, collaboration, and the contributions of educators, researchers, and IUP・IGP alumni to Kyushu University's international academic community.

Day 2 · November 5
Scientific presentations from diverse research fields connected by the use of data analysis, artificial intelligence, statistics, mathematical modeling, numerical methods, or simulation.

Days 3–4 · November 6–7
A two-day program at the Kuju Joint Training Center, Oita, featuring brainstorming, interdisciplinary exchange, and informal discussion among WIS2026 participants.
Participation by invitation only: The Kuju program is not open through the general WIS2026 registration form and is limited to participants contacted directly by email.
For students attending Asia Week 2026 for course credit: Participation in the Kuju program is not required to receive confirmation of attendance at WIS2026.
Registration fee: JPY 26,000 per participant. No registration fee is required for students who do not participate in the Kuju Brainstorming program, participants attending only the program on November 4, or participants granted an exemption.
