Report on the 13th JASID Western Japan Research Meeting

The meeting was organized as an opportunity for researchers and students to share their research findings and exchange ideas from different academic perspectives. The meeting included four main sections: Agricultural Development; Agriculture and Energy; Economics; and Energy and Urban Policy, with Prof. Yoshi Takahashi serving as the chair. A total of 44 presenters participated in the meeting and presented research covering a wide range of topics and perspectives.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for collaboration and academic exchange between Hiroshima University and Kyushu University. Through this event, I had the opportunity to visit Hiroshima University and present my research entitled “Effects of Carbenoxolone-Mediated Gap Junction Inhibition on Tissue Development in Chicken Embryos.” My presentation focused on the effects of carbenoxolone (CBX), a gap junction inhibitor, on tissue development in chicken embryos. The presentation was allocated 10 minutes, followed by a 4-minute question-and-answer session.
Participating in this research meeting was a valuable experience for developing my academic presentation and communication skills. Presenting my research to researchers from different fields allowed me to receive questions and feedback from different perspectives. In addition, listening to other presentations provided me with a broader understanding of current research related to agriculture, energy, economics, and urban policy. The meeting also offered an opportunity to learn about different research approaches and to establish academic connections with researchers and students from Hiroshima University and other institutions.
Overall, attending the 13th JASID Western Japan Research Meeting was a meaningful academic experience. It enabled me to present my research, receive feedback, improve my presentation skills, and gain new perspectives through interaction with researchers from different disciplines. I believe that this experience will be beneficial for my future research activities and contribute to the development of further collaboration between Kyushu University and Hiroshima University.
