Report on Participation and Presentations at the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Cultured Foods

On August 29, 2026, I participated in the “Student Pitch,” a program for young researchers held during the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Cultured Food at the Osaka International Convention Center. I gave a presentation titled “A Three-Dimensional Cultivation Method Requiring No Medium Changes or Scaffold Materials.” I reported on research in which cells derived from chicken embryos and sacs were seeded at a high density to form three-dimensional structures without the need for medium changes or scaffold materials.
One area for improvement was my inability to fully anticipate the unique atmosphere and style of the “Student Pitch” event beforehand. Since it was an academic conference, I maintained a serious tone throughout my presentation. However, the presentations that received awards captured the audience’s interest and energized the room with humor. Additionally, as it was my first presentation, I was extremely nervous. This caused my facial expressions to stiffen, and I was unable to smile or promote my research effectively. This remains a major challenge for me.
Nevertheless, I was inspired by the presentations and advice from the other participants, and observing the poster sessions motivated me. Moving forward, I intend to advance my research, accumulate more data, and participate in the poster session next time.
