Message from the Course Director

I would like to welcome you to our Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program at Kyushu University. Our JDS fellows belong to the International Development Research Course, which is in the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences. We accepted 3 JDS fellows from Vietnam in 2001 and until now have accepted 188 students from Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao-PDR, and Ghana as well as Vietnam. Our course accept the largest number of JDS fellows who want to study agriculture and rural development. This course is an English-taught graduate program and offers research and education related to the maintenance of a stable supply of the food and materials indispensable to life, the conservation of wildlife and the environment, and covers a broad spectrum of disciplines including biological, chemical, physical, mathematical, social and environmental sciences. Finally I would like to thank you for taking an interest in our program.
