On May 20, 2026, the Institute of Tropical Agriculture (ITA), Kyushu University, held the “ITA 50th Anniversary Forum” at the Ito Campus.
The forum was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ITA and was attended by alumni, researchers, and related participants from Japan and overseas, both onsite and online.
In the first half of the forum, ITA alumni working in various countries and institutions introduced their memories of ITA, their current research and professional activities, and their experiences in international collaboration.
In the second half, participants looked back on the 50-year history of ITA and learned about its current research and educational activities as well as its future direction. During the general discussion session, participants actively exchanged ideas on future international collaboration and possible joint research activities through the ITA alumni network and Kyushu University.
After the forum, a reception BBQ event was also held, providing a valuable opportunity for participants to strengthen connections and reconnect with each other.
