As part of the JICA Technical Cooperation Project (Sri Lanka) “The Project for Research and Education Capacity Improvement in Dry zone Agriculture at University of Jaffna” we welcomed Ms. Thavarupen Thushyanthi, a faculty member from the University of Jaffna, and conducted a skill enhancement training on data analysis and forecasting.
The training took place from March 2 to 12 and covered programming for time-series data analysis and forecasting using Python, as well as data acquisition and analysis using Google Earth Engine. Additionally, as part of a field study, we visited Kyushu University’s experimental forest, Kasegawa Dam, Yamada Weir, Horikawa Irrigation Canal, and the Isahaya Bay Reclamation Project.
