Abstract: The Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Agriculture, Bangladesh (IPSA) project has established a new graduate school of Agricultural Sciences (a non-faculty graduate school) in Gazipur, Bangladesh. D. research and education, with the goal of improving agricultural production and the economy and livelihood of the local people in Bangladesh.
Phase I of the IPSA project was completed in July 1990, and Phase II was implemented from July 1990 to July 1995. Phase I focused on strengthening research at IPSA, while Phase II aimed not only to strengthen research, but also to strengthen education and the sustainability of IPSA.
The main fields of cooperation were crop science, applied botany, entomology, genetics and breeding, horticulture, plant pathology, and soil science. The total number of trainees was 53, and the number of students who received degrees in Japan (government-sponsored students) was 5.
